Mr. Rob Helder
Vice Principal and Grade 2 Teacher
Mr. Rob Helder brings a wealth of experience in both education and administration to his role as Vice Principal at Torah Day School. His career began in healthcare, where he worked as a nurse and later as a manager and administrator, overseeing residents and staff. He also earned a Developmental Service Worker Diploma during this time. After feeling an inner calling to teach, Mr. Helder pursued his credentials at Covenant Teacher’s College and Redeemer University. He has taught in several private schools in both Hamilton and Ottawa, and has held roles such as Learning Assistance Coordinator and Principal of a private school. Mr. Helder has specialized qualifications in teaching students with special needs and reading, and has worked on curriculum development to support student success. In addition to his teaching, Mr. Helder teaches part-time ESL for adults with the Ottawa Catholic School Board and maintains his nursing skills as a casual charge nurse. With his extensive experience in education, administration, and leadership, Mr. Helder is excited to contribute to Torah Day School’s continued success.
